I just finished uploading my most recent wedding. I have to say, this was the most fun video to edit so far. Not only was it a wonderful wedding and a super-fun reception to attend, but there were many unique things (especially at the reception) that were fun to shoot and work with. This one is also shot in a more movie-like widescreen, which I think makes it a bit extra special. Oh, and the groom’s my cousin, did I mention that? Watch and enjoy!

This is a highlight reel from the ceremony of the second wedding I shot. It took place in the same venue as my own wedding, so that was exciting. It was a beautiful wedding and a lot of fun to shoot.

Well, I finally got there: I have finished editing the first wedding I shot, and it is uploaded and you can see it above.

Many, many thanks to Bryan, Erin, and their families as they accommodated me during the shooting of this wedding. I’ll spare the details, but I had a technical issue (which I have found a permanent solution to, so don’t worry), and I was unable to use a significant portion of the footage I shot. Major bummer! So the resulting video is not 100% what I had in mind, and there are many shots missing, but overall I think it serves as a nice, brief highlight reel of their beautiful ceremony.

As a quick update, Anne and Kyle’s wedding has been edited and sent to them, but I have yet to complete the web version. I will post again as soon as it is up!

Lastly, I wanted to re-issue the call for one more couple who would be willing to allow me to shoot, edit, and produce a video of their wedding for free, in return for allowing me to put portions of the footage on my website. Please contact me if you are interested or have any questions at all!

'Tis the Season

Merry Christmas! I’ve had a lot of fun working the past few weeks on putting together the footage from Kyle and Anne’s wedding. What a beautiful wedding! I’m looking forward to finishing that up soon, so I can give it to them and so I can post it here. If you or someone you know is getting married in the Spring or Summer of 2010, please pass along my name and website info! Thom Video Productions is looking for three to four weddings, in October, November, or December, to shoot for FREE! We will treat you just as if you were paying for our services, but you simply won’t have to pay anything. In return, we ask that we can use the footage we shoot for my promotional purposes, and for the purpose of showing to prospective clients as samples. If you are interested in being a “guinea pig” wedding for us (and receiving full wedding coverage for free), please contact us.

Almost Ready

I now have nearly all of the equipment purchased and ready to go. It’s so exciting to have all-new, high-quality equipment. My hope is that, while new equipment alone cannot produce a quality video, it will assist me in creating high-quality, personalized videos. The website is almost ready to go now too, and hopefully you will find it easy to navigate.

New Beginnings

Today marks the formal creation of my business, Thom Video Productions. While the name is not yet registered with the state, I have opened business checking and savings accounts through my bank, and thus, to my mind, it has begun.

The creation of Thom Video Productions (TV Productions, or TVP) is the culmination of years of hobbying and volunteering my skills for friends, family, classmates, and church. Something I have always enjoyed doing, I decide to make my hobby my work, and provide these services to other people.

I realize I am new to the arena, but I ask that you spread the word to anyone you might know who is planning a wedding – there’s a new player in the game: Thom Video Productions!
